Japanese mountaineers opened a new route in Karakorum
31 August 2017Kazuya Hiraide and Kenro Nakajima have opened a new line on Shispare (7611 meters), in western Karakorum.
On August 22, Japanese mountaineers Kazuya Hiraide and Kenro Nakajima opened a new route on the north-east wall of Shispare. After 5 attempts they reached the summit of the mountain through its most beautiful and slender wall that develops for 2700 meters, with passages evaluated around the M6 / WI5.
Shispare is one of the most "recent" mountains in the Karakorum. It was only in 1974 that a team from Poland and Germany headed by Janusz Kurczab climbed this summit.
