4 Peruvians aspirant alpine guides completed "Last Inca"in Cordillera Central
18 April 2009
The Escuela de Guías de Montaña del Perú (CEAM) raises international alpine guides of high technical preparation and pass on the pupils the culture of the exploration.
An evidence is this is the interesting new route on a less known mountain: the Cordillera Central of the Peruvians Andes, east of Lima.
In January Beto Pinto, Steven Fuentes, Roger Lliuya and Darío Yucra , all from CEAM, completed on sud west wall of Nevado Paccha the route Last Inca (400 m., TD+, 6a, 65-90º).
The mountain was previously climbed only in 1932 (by the north ridge) by a german team charged to trace a map of the region.
