Hansjörg Auer, David Lama and Alexander Blümel in Himalaya
Expedition report
02 November 2017A short report of Hansjörg Auer, David Lama and Alexander Blümel in Himalayas.
After getting acclimatized in Khumbu Valley, on October 15, the three mountaineers climbed the Ama Dablam (6814m). They bivied on top enjoying the beautiful view of Himalayan giants Everest, Lothse and Makalu, passing a cold, windy but unforgettable night. They then helped the "fixing-guys" to put the fixed rope between Camp 2 and Camp 3, finding them in trouble and knowing that some commercial expeditions would soon leave the field for the ascent.
The team's initial project was to climb Annapurna III, a mountain that, despite several attempts, one of them last year, remains wrapped in a mystery aura.
"The decision then not going to Annapurna III was by far not easy but the right one". Hansjörg Auer
