On March 31, David Lama established a a new route in the Valsertal (Tyrol) on the unnamed summit ridge between Sagwand e Hohe Kirche.
The name of the line is Badlands, 700m, 6a M5 WI4 A1.
David started started hiking at 2:30 in the morning and got the base of the 700m face at around 7:00.
The originary idea was to establish a new route on Schrammacher Nordwand, but David was forced to change his plans because of the high snow and the difficulties in the approaching the wall alone.
"The 200m crux section took me about three hours, because I had to belay myself." The rest of the route... I climbed without a rope and got to the summit in the early afternoon. A few more hours of rappelling and hiking down brought me back to my car. I named the route Badlands and it weighs in at about 6a M5 WI4 A1."
