Black Diamond athletes Colin Haley and Dave Turner are no strangers to multi-hour pushes in the mountains and alpine walls throughout the world, so it's no surprise that the duo hooked up in Yosemite to make a sub-24 hour link-up of El Capitan and Half Dome on October 31, treating it as fun training for their future missions to Patagonia and beyond. By choosing to go for the link-up (which involves roughly 5,000 feet of climbing) so late in the season (their link-up was possibly the latest in the season anyone has pulled it off) the pair spent 12 hours climbing in the dark by headlamp compared to only eight hours of climbing in daylight.
