Still dead on the mountain

Ski mountaineers involved in several accidents

07 May 2015 While the good weather of the last Saturday did the joy of climbers, there are still fatalities on the mountains this year. In South Tyrol, in Val Martello, a large avalanche has fallen in the Ortles-Cevedale, investing a group of ski mountaineers, one of which was killed while others were injured. Even in the area Valfurva (SO), a passionate young ski fell into a crevasse and hence was recovered lifeless. The event took place at the San Matteo, at an altitude of 3200 meters. Serious accident, fortunately not fatal, for another ski mountaineer on the Swiss side of Monte Rosa:  approximately 4000 meters he has precipitated a steep wall of the north. The person was transported by helicopter to the Hospital of Bern. He has  various fractures to arms and spine but he is not life threatening. This year on the entire Alpine arc there were so many accidents. Drama on January 31 in a single day where there were 8 deaths but since the first days of the year he had reported the first dramatic events. We have repeatedly touched on the topic "security" for us rhymes with "awareness”. All outdoor sports are potentially dangerous; a portion of danger can not be eliminated because it is part of the discipline but it can be minimized only with proper preparation. source ilmessaggero.it
