British climbers Jonathan Griffith and Will Sim established in May 2011 the speed record on the Cassin Ridge at Denali, Alaska (6194m), completing the ascent in 14h and 40 min.
Until now the speedest ascent was done on 1991 by Mugs Stump in 15 hours.
On 2010 Colin Haley and Bjørn Eivind Årtun carried out the ascent in 17 hours, despite lot of snow in the itinerary and fuel problems which slowed them down for breaking Mugs Stump record. The Cassin ridge was established in 1961 by Riccardo Cassin, Romano Perego, Annibale Zucchi, Gigi Alippi, Jack Canali and Luigi Airoldi.
