On Shivling, indian Himalaya27 October 2017
This October, climbers Simon Gietl and Vittorio Messini putted up a new route on Shivling (6543) in the Indian Himalayas.
At the end of September, Simon Gietl and Vittorio Messini went under the Garhwal Himalaya mountain range in India to repeat the Shiva's Line route: opened by Thomas Huber and Iwan Wolf on Shivling, who deserved the 2001 Piolet d'Or.
However, the very stiff conditions changed the mind to the two, who instead of climbing on the Shiva's Line snowplates preferred to move on the ice of this new line: Shiva's Ice.
Shiva's Ice was open on three climbing days and three nights on the wall. is a long line of 1500 m with difficulty around the WI5, M6.
