Denis Urubko, awarded with Boris Dedeshko of Piolet d’Or 2010, topped out Lhotse on Sunday, May 16th at 11.30.
The Kazakh alpinist, despite the strong wind, started alone from South Col at 6.10 and climbed a variant to the classic route on the south face of the mountain.
Simone Moro climbed with Denis up to 7,800 m then descended to the BC.
3 hours after Urubko, Kazakh climbers Vlad Chekhlov, (1 x 8000), Max Zhumayev and Vaso Pivtsov, (both 13 x 8000) summited Lhotse from the normal route, none of the summiters with suplementary O2
