Conrad Anker and David Lama complete Latent Core (450m, 5.11, A1)
At Zion a new route started 25 years ago
18 July 2015
25 years passed from the forst attempt by Conrad Anker with Doug Heinrich in Temple of Sinawana, Zion. And 25 years is the next birthday of David Lama, next 4th August. Two togheter completed the new route Latent Core (450m, 5.11, A1) doing a sort of general test waiting the future to try probably something different on highest mountains of Earth.
“When we arrived in Zion” David said, “Conrad proposed we should try to on-sight the Moonlight Buttress but for me, that was not as tempting as putting up a new line. At the entrance to the narrows of Zion Canyon there is, on the left side there’s this really impressive wall, it’s steep and has a waterfall on the right side. The thing that is really outstanding when talking about Conrad is how he still has so much joy when he’s climbing. I hope that I will always enjoy climbing as much as he does."
