ORTOVOX: on the right road
FAIR WEAR FOUNDATION reconfirms the title of LEADER at ORTOVOX06 December 2019
For the second consecutive time, ORTOVOX was awarded the title of "Leader" by the Fair Wear Foundation (FWF).
Despite the continuous growth and the opening of new production facilities, the Bavarian company has managed to monitor 98% of production as required by the FWF guidelines. Moreover, thanks to ProtACT2024, ORTOVOX underlined the clear and tangible sustainable approach of the company.
"The annual achievement of the title of «Leader» awarded by the Fair Wear Foundation is an integral part of our sustainability strategy - said Stefanie Rieder-Haas, CSR manager of ORTOVOX - This recognition is the demonstration of the long-term transparency of ORTOVOX and the continuous efforts as a socially responsible company. The fact of having once again obtained the title of Leader, with a result equal to 76 points, gratifies us and confirms that we are following the right path".
For some years ORTOVOX has adopted a series of measures to increase the sustainability of the company, making this approach more tangible and measurable on several levels. Among the various steps we mention the adhesions to the association for sustainable fabrics (Bündnis für nachhaltige Textilien) and to the Fair Wear Foundation, which took place in 2015.
In 2016, ORTOVOX joined the European Outdoor Conservation Association (EOCA). In 2017 the ORTOVOX WOOL PROMISE (OWP) was published, which is an internal protocol that sets standards for the production and processing of wool in compliance with the Responsible Wool Standard (RWS).
As a member of the FWF, ORTOVOX is committed to applying the strict guidelines of the organization in production facilities. To this end, the company guarantees, among many other aspects, adequate remuneration, safe and healthy working conditions and reasonable working hours. ORTOVOX has always aimed to establish a direct dialogue with all its business partners. Many team members regularly visit the factories where the production takes place. The objective, in addition to monitoring compliance with the directives, is to contribute to further development through meetings and exchanges of opinions and the analysis of best practice examples.
