Sustainability strategy and new WESTALPEN product line for summer 2020.

Presented at OUTDOOR by ISPO 2019, the new ORTOVOX sustainability strategy is based on its key values. Already existing initiatives and new precise objectives to be achieved by 2024.

The news also concern products: with the new WESTALPEN line, ORTOVOX presents its most versatile and technical textile collection for high-altitude mountaineering and hiking, to which is added, in the hardware sector, the award-winning PEAK LIGHT and PEAK LIGHT series of backpacks 40.

PROTACT2024 points to the root of things: ORTOVOX has established six pillars to formulate its sustainability strategy until 2024, defining concrete objectives. As wool experts, the company, with ORTOVOX WOOL PROMISE (OWP), has developed its own quality standard, a quality that aims at certifying wool according to strict criteria and transparency in the marketing chain. The goal is to integrate the Swisswool partner into the OWP by 2024.

The pillars of friendship and mountaineering symbolize a loyal and responsible relationship with both stakeholders and the environment and resources. In this context, ORTOVOX has set out to maintain the status of leader of the Fair Wear Foundation and to commit itself to climate neutrality.

Given its Alpine origin, ORTOVOX underlines the importance of its production site in Europe. Over 60% of production currently takes place in Europe and this will remain the minimum level in the future. The pioneering themes of safety and motivated by functionality illustrate the goal of using 100% PFC-free materials both in the textile and hardware sectors, the chemical management sector, as well as product durability and their reusability.
