VIBRAM presents: MATTERHORN, THE LION RIDGE
The film with Hervé Barmasse has a world premiere at the Trento Film Festival28 April 2021
Matterhorn is one of the most beautiful and well-known mountains in the world; slender and harmonious from the Swiss side, majestic and imposing from the Italian side, it is one of the most sought-after climbs in the Alps.
Hervé Barmasse as an exceptional mountain guide and popularizer will accompany all spectators live on the Italian normal route, THE LION RIDGE, in a film produced by Vibram.
"Often seen and experienced as an extreme discipline - underlines Jerome Bernard, Vibram Sport Innovation Marketing Global Director - with this wide-ranging film production we wanted to shift the perspective of the story of mountaineering, giving anyone the opportunity to live almost as a protagonist a authentic journey into the vertical dimension. Mountaineering is evolving strongly, and is also accessible to everyone, always with the right awareness".
Matterhorn, the Lion Ridge is a project conceived and strongly desired by Vibram, which has always been at the forefront of supporting mountaineering activities and the enhancement of the outdoor area. The film, which lasts 35 minutes and sees the direction shared by Alessandro Beltrame and Hervé, will retrace the stages of the conquest, will tackle all the most difficult passages of the climb, explaining how to deal with them and will remember some of the greatest mountaineers ever, by Jean Antoine Carrel from Edward Whymper to Walter Bonatti.
"This film is intended as a tribute to the mountain that is the symbol of all the mountains in the world and to all those who have lived an experience in front of the Matterhorn - declared Hervé Barmasse, athlete of the Vibram global Team - A documentary to learn about the history of the Lion Crest , the queen ascension of the 4,000 peaks in the Alps which, first ascended on 17 July 1865, is still one of the most exciting climbs an alpinist can aspire to”.
The film will be available in attendance at the Modena multiplex cinema on 2 May at 5.45 pm and online on 8 May upon registration - with a maximum limit of 500 slots - on the online.trentofestival.it website, at a symbolic price of € 3.00 in Italian language and subtitled in English and French.
