Dynafit: Alpine Pro Test
Rumble of cannons, drum roll: enter the stage Dynafit Alpine Pro.07 July 2017
It is a solemn moment for one of the protagonists of this season, which we greet enthusiastically for the impressions made during the test.
With these shoes we performed 4 outlets, two on short medium and two medium long distances, one on low soft ground and three on technical ground in the pre-alpine and alpine environment, both in dry conditions and in wet conditions.
As soon as the shoe was fitted, the shoe was pleasantly wrap-up: the Rubber Tension system (rubber diagonal rubber inserted in the back of the foot) immediately conveyed the impression of good protection, confirmed in running. Moving to the front of the shoe was similarly impressed by the functionality of the reinforced bumper, however lighter, and consequently did not completely absorb some bumps encountered on the paths.
The quick-lace system chosen by Dynafit for the Alpine Pro, coupled with a small but effective protective pad, can be, as is always the case for this type, appreciated by some trailrunners and less by others. Personally I belong to the second category, but I'm also satisfied with the tip closure and the use of the retractable tab.
I was particularly impressed with the rolling ability that is achieved both at low speeds and at sustained rhythms thanks to Alpine Rolling Intersuola. The shoe adapts to the ground and combines with the functionality of the foot movement in support and restart also a pleasant feeling of effectiveness in the thrust.
For the sole, it has been chosen to rely on the Vibram Megagrip compound, capable of handling with excellent technical ground grips, wet and slippery surfaces. An important contribution to supportive safety, including downhill runs, is provided by 5 mm nails, with a tapering design that favors stability even in the crossbars.
The drop is 8 millimeters, and the weight is slightly below 300 grams (number 41 tested).
By synthesizing, we can say that the Alpine Pro is a great protective and reactive shoe that wraps well on the foot and gives reliability on technical (even wet) terrain.
We believe that for all of its features (rigidity, protection, drop) the optimal use of this shoe involves the distance travel medium to long.
