Alpago Piancavallo 2017: Italy collected 13 medals
Italian athletes continue to be among the best during the Mountaineering World Cup27 February 2017
At the World Cup with the transfer of the race to Piancavallo, the Italians are at the top of the rankings with 13 conquered medals of which 6 are gold.
The World Mountaineering Championships started out great with the victory of Damiano Lenzi in the individual category and continue to give great satisfaction to Italian athletes: first in the rankings with 6 gold, 4 silver and 3 bronze.
Specifically, it is worth pointing out the great team competition that saw the team consisting of Matteo Eydallin and Damiano Lenzi to confirm the best. When they reached the finish line, the two went to celebrate and change into the material control area, Damiano turns off the ARTVA and for this reason when it passes control it is inactive and leads the team to a 3-minute penalty on time. Despite this, Italian athletes win the gold medal for the second consecutive time.
The other Italian medals
In the female Espoir there are two Italian medals: Alba de Silvestro wins followed by Giulia Compagnoni. The male Espoir sees the victory of Italian Federico Nicolini.
Always a girl, always Italian wins the individual Junior: it is Giulia Murada, while for the Cadet category Samantha Bertolina comes second behind the French Justine Tonso.
Totally Italian podium for Junior Male category: Davide Magnini wins followed by Nicolò Canclini and Enrico Loss. Alessandro Rossi conquers bronze in male cadets.
